John the Baptist was raised of God to introduce the Lord Jesus [Luke 1:76-79], and he did it; and the true disciples of John the Baptist entered the Christian movement: John, the man who wrote the fourth gospel, Simon Peter, Andrew - all of the apostles of the Lord Jesus were disciples of John the Baptist [John 1:35-42].
